Join the ongoing narrative of the Wetland Series – a call for photographs!

Every year Environment Haliburton! mounts a display at Nature’s Place. This year the theme is wetlands. Wetlands comprise much of the Haliburton landscape. Knowing that many may consider wetlands to be just swamps to be filled in, EH!’s meme is beautiful wetlands (and useful too). Images will illustrate their beauty and their useful functions – flood control, water retention, water cleansing, carbon sequestration and habitat.
EH! and Nature’s Place are asking you to share your images of wetlands before May 10 via email to gallery@mindenhills.ca. Title your email EH! Wetland Series. Please ensure the image is more than 1MB and less than 10MB. Include the general area where the photo was taken (geographic township, if possible) and, with permission, the name of the photographer. Images will not be reproduced or sold and copyright remains with the photographer.
Images will be posted as 11×17 posters in Nature’s Place, which is to open mid-May until Thanksgiving weekend. For more information please contact Laurie Carmount at the Minden Hills Cultural Centre 705-286-3763.
